“Improving student preparation with LabBuddy”

The challenge

Students struggled with calculations and practical lab work. The goal was to ensure they thought critically about each protocol step in advance, making the most of limited lab time and optimizing the use of flow benches.

The transformation

With LabBuddy, students prepared by working through protocol steps and calculations beforehand. This eliminated the need for pre-lab calculation checks and encouraged deeper understanding. Lab assistants also noticed a positive shift in student engagement and confidence.

The final result

Students felt better prepared and had more confidence in their calculations. Survey results were overwhelmingly positive, with students reporting a clearer understanding of the procedures. Compared to the previous year, they approached the lab with greater awareness and focus.
