The challenge

Students began the course with very different levels of laboratory experience. Some needed more help understanding experiments, following instructions and knowing what to do next. Several students also arrived without completing the preparation, making the first laboratory sessions more challenging.

The transformation

LabBuddy guided students through each experiment one step at a time. Staff introduced the activities, demonstrated each laboratory technique and supported students while they practised. This gave students both clear digital instructions and practical help when they needed it.

The final result

Students felt better able to understand each experiment and work independently. 93% of students said LabBuddy helped them follow the experimental process and instructions successfully. The feedback confirmed its value while highlighting one clear improvement: giving students earlier access and a short introduction before laboratory work begins.
